Drafts 4 provides an iOS Today widget to easily access Drafts from the Notification Center from anywhere on your device.
If you are new to Today widgets, Macworld has an excellent introduction to managing your Today view on iOS 8. The short story: Scroll to the bottom of the "Today" view in notification center and tap the "Edit" button to manage which widgets appear in the Today view.
The Drafts today widget is compact, and provides the following:
- Inbox count: Displays the current number of drafts in your inbox. Tapping on the "Inbox" label will open Drafts directly to your Inbox.
- New draft (+): Launch Drafts ready to edit a new draft.
- New draft from clipboard (clipboard icon): Same as "New draft", but the new draft will contain the current contents of the system clipboard ready. This is handy when capturing text from other places in the system.
- Recent drafts: A list of the most recently accessed drafts. Tapping on a draft in this list will open Drafts directly to that draft, ready for editing. In Drafts > Settings, the number of recent drafts visible in the Today widget can be configured, or set to zero to completely remove them and compact the widget.
