Action Step: Open in

The Open in action step uses the pre-iOS 8 export functionality to send a file to another app which supports import of plain text files.

If you wish to export without leaving drafts, also look at the new "Export" step type.

Open in steps can be configured as follows:

• Name: The file name to use for the exported file. Defaults to the Drafts "[[time]]" timestamp tag.
• Extension: The file extension to use. Defaults to "txt".
• File Content: The template for the content of the file. [[draft]] (the full text of the draft) is the default value.

When firing an action with an Open in step, a dialog will appear asking you to select the target app from a list of those you have installed which support import.

Because Open in steps leave drafts, you should only create one per action and it should be the last step in a multi-step action.
