NOTE: This documentation applies to iOS 10 and lower. Apple removed Facebook support in iOS 11 and Facebook posting is not currently supported.
The Facebook action steps posts a status update to Facebook, using the Facebook account configured in iOS Settings.
The only configurable option is the Template, which default to [[draft]] (the full content of the draft).
To troubleshoot Facebook actions, try the following:
If an error occurs when posting to Facebook, tap the (i) info detail on the draft, and look in the action log to see if any more helpful information is available about what error occurred.
The most common errors are permissions errors, often in the form of 400 or 403 errors…to fix these, try:
- Delete the Facebook account in iOS Settings, then sign back in. Drafts uses the system Facebook account, and sometime it's credentials get stale, often due to password changes or device restores.
- If that doesn't work, check iOS Settings > Privacy > Facebook. There are toggles in this view for each app which has requested permission to use Facebook accounts. Be sure Drafts is in this list and enabled.
- Visit the Facebook website, and go to your account settings > Apps. Check that Drafts appears in this list and has permissions to "Post".
If none of these steps help, try to post to Facebook from Safari on the same device using the "Share" button and selecting Facebook. This will test if the account is valid and working for other apps on the device.
